Chicago Women’s Health Center: The fight to make media and sexual literacy essential learning in CPS

When it comes to sexual education at Chicago Public Schools, there’s a lot falling through the cracks. Sex ed advocate Scott Bratt knows firsthand from her work as youth outreach director at Chicago Women’s Health Center. Bratt goes into CPS schools to talk with youth about the importance of sexual literacy, with the message that sexual education doesn’t just end in the classroom. Real Chi Youth Reporters Cheyenne Banks and Michael Key Jr sat down with Bratt for a conversation about her personal experiences both as a student and teacher of sex ed.
